DESCRIPTION
The Climb Winter Triglav tour with OUTVENTUREX is an alpine adventure like no other. This technical ascent combines the thrill of climbing with the awe-inspiring beauty of the Julian Alps transformed into a snowy wonderland. Led by our expert IFMGA guides, the climb to Slovenia’s highest peak at 2,863 m (9,395 ft) is a challenge designed for experienced adventurers who want to test their skills in true winter conditions.
Who is it for?
This Winter Triglav ascent is suitable for climbers with prior mountaineering experience. You should feel confident using crampons, handling an ice axe, and moving on ropes. With our seasoned guides, you’ll learn advanced alpine techniques and progress safely, even in demanding snow and ice terrain.
The route
The journey begins with an ascent to the Triglav Lodge at Kredarica, where breathtaking panoramas of the Julian Alps open up. In winter, the lodge is officially closed, but the resident meteorologists welcome climbers with warmth and hot meals, creating an authentic high-mountain base.
From Kredarica, ropes, crampons, and ice axes come into play as we push towards the summit. Expect mixed rocky and snowy terrain, technical sections, and a true alpine atmosphere. Weather conditions play a key role, but with OVX guides by your side, safety always comes first.
The experience
Climbing Triglav in winter means fewer crowds, peaceful silence, and the raw beauty of untouched landscapes inside Triglav National Park. At the summit, a frozen panorama of the Julian Alps stretches endlessly, rewarding your effort with views few will ever experience.
