Join us for ski mountaineering in Slovenia, where the Julian Alps become your playground of powder slopes, wild terrain, and peaceful solitude far from ski resorts. With OVX guides, you’ll combine the adventure of alpine touring with the freedom of untouched snow, moving through landscapes that few skiers ever reach.
Routes for every level
Our ski touring tours in Slovenia are designed to fit your ability and fitness. You can choose between easy tours with short 1–2 hour ascents or demanding full-day tours that test endurance and technique. In addition, we also offer a multi-day adventure — the Slovenian “Haute Route,” a 3-day Triglav ski touring traverse through the heart of the Julian Alps.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Ski touring tour
We start from the parking site early in the morning – from 6.00 to 7.00, depending on the tour type.
- Gear check.
- Avalanche safety equipment check.
- Start of the uphill ski walking.
- Observing the terrain.
- Efficiently uphill while we need to save our battery for skiing down.
- After reaching the summit, preparation for the skiing down.
- A guide will show you the best lines for skiing down.
A guide will asses the conditions all the time during the tour and have the right to decide to change the route plan or to stop the tour accordingly to the conditions.

We recommend guided climbing tours to everybody who seeks complete relaxation and wants to have only one thing on their mind – safe summiting Triglav.

CONDITIONS
Booking needs to be done at least 2 days in advance.
Previous basic mountain snow experiences are recommended.
Necessary gear:
- Comfortable winter sports clothes (3 layers of clothing)
- Insulation and windproof jackets
- Waterproof gloves + one extra pair
- Spare socks, underwear, and shirts
- Headwear (cap, buff)
- Ski Touring boots and crampons
- Backpack of at least 30-40 L
- Headlamp
- Snacks
- Insulated bottle for a warm tea (1L)
- Sunscreen, suncream, toothbrush
- ID Card, cash for food and accommodation
Necessary technical gear:
- Ski touring skis (skins)
- Ski crampons
- Ice axe
- Poles
- Avalanche gears (probe, beacon, shelve)
- Helmet
- (technical climbing gear – harness, carabines – according to the chosen tour)
In case you don’t have your technical gear, we provide it to you. Prior arrangement is necessary.
